Leading Causes of Death in the US in 2008

"Malignant neoplasms – 566,469."

That’s the number of cancer deaths in 2008 in the US as reported by The Centers for Disease Control. Overall numbers are set out in Table I of the published a study of the leading causes of death in the US for 2008. The Report is part of Volume 60 of the National Vital Statistics Report, # 6, June 12, 2012.

Thinking about "the next asbestos"? Think litigation involving cancers other than mesotheliomas. Consider in particular the massive annual numbers for breast cancers and blood cancers.
